Evaluation of Montpellier

And it was so... that after visiting other European nations I found myself setting foot in France and exactly in Montpellier, in the company of my friend Angelo.
The trip was not so much to discover the city (in summer it's really very hot), but to discover the French Riviera; despite this we saw the city (although not very well) and I decided to write an article about it.
Place de la Comรฉdie is the beating heart of the city and from there on foot you can easily reach the รcusson district, the Promenade du Peyrou and the Arc de Triomphe. If you want to explore in depth, be sure to go in spring or autumn to avoid the stifling summer heat, which can make walking exhausting.
I didn't have the pleasure to stop for long, but even so, Montpellier remains an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area: the sea is only a few kilometers away, and by car you can quickly reach places like Sรจte, Aigues-Mortes, Nรฎmes and about an hour's drive away is the famous Naturist Village of Cap D'Agde that I had the pleasure of visiting and of which of course I wrote an article that you will certainly find interesting.
Montpellier is fascinating but perhaps not enough for an entire trip unless you are looking for relaxation and peaceful atmospheres.
Personally I would recommend it as part of a wider itinerary maybe on the road as it was also in my case, I would like to point out that I found the place much quieter and safer than other French cities such as Marseille, so in my opinion it is also good for those traveling with family and children.
Montpellier struck me for its youthful atmosphere: it is a true university city and you can feel it everywhere, from student filled clubs to lively markets and especially in its squares.
The historic center is enchanting, with its paved alleys, light stone buildings and a sense of authentic life that is often missing in places that are overly touristy.
