Evaluation of Florence

This somewhat unusual tour was born from the desire to visit several cities in just one week on a limited budget and perhaps also from the need to distract myself after a romantic breakup.
The journey began in Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, a city with two distinct souls: on one hand the historic center full of restaurants, bars, museums and lively clubs even in winter; on the other hand the seaside area, completely separated from the city center with beautiful beaches that become crowded in summer and filled with well equipped establishments.
In the surrounding area there are Quartu and Sestu, two interesting locations not only for what they offer but also for the meaning of their names, which indicate their distance in kilometers from the center of Cagliari, a curious detail that shows how deeply local culture is rooted in the territory.
I found the Sardinian people friendly, welcoming and always helpful, even if I had a small misadventure in a rather elegant bar in the center where they complained because we were missing seventeen cents on the bill. It was a somewhat grotesque scene, but it didn't change the positive impression I had of the city.
From there, we moved on to Pisa, the city of the Leaning Tower, which I always heard described with great enthusiasm. However, it left me a little perplexed. The city center is pleasant and lively, full of students, bars and clubs ,but overall, I had a sense of poor security, with drug dealers visible even in broad daylight and other unclear situations. Maybe it's just a matter of what you are used to, but I didn't feel completely at ease.
The last stop of the tour was Florence, a wonderful city that I wish I could have experienced more fully. Unfortunately, during my stay I lost my ID card, which affected the whole trip, making me distracted and less present.
Still, Florence impressed me with its clean, well kept historic center, so rich in history, with an energy you can feel day and night, and with its unique ability to blend elegance and authenticity around every corner.A negative note goes to the prices, which are not among the lowest, though with a bit of care you can still eat well without spending too much. I would gladly return to Florence with more peace of mind and without unforeseen problems, to finally give it the time it deserves and experience it to the fullest .
