Evaluation of Milan

How often do you hear phrases like: "Naples is such a dangerous city, for sure they'll steal something from you?" And yet, surprise! The reality can be quite different from what people say. In my experience, the city where you really need to watch out for theft is actually Milan! I say this with a pinch of irony and with the honesty of someone who has been there and lived it firsthand, an impression often confirmed by TV reports and by the stories of many friends.
That being said, Milan is a city that constantly surprises. It dazzles with its modernity and its fast paced yet elegant rhythm, a place where historic architecture coexists beautifully with bold new buildings, creating a dynamic and international atmosphere.
The Duomo with its spires that seem to touch the sky leaves you breathless every time you look at it, and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with its windows and historic cafes is a true masterpiece, a must for those who want to feel the beating heart of the city.
The center of Milan is perfect for wandering on foot, moving between the elegant streets of the Quadrilatero della Moda and the greenery of the Sempione Park, ideal for a relaxing break between visits.
Milan is a city you can discover in just a few days. While it offers plenty to experience, it doesn't take weeks to enjoy: three or four days are enough to soak up its atmosphere, see the main attractions, and maybe even get swept up in some special event.
When it comes to nightlife, Milan truly shines: discos, clubs and the famous Navigli with their romantic reflections create the perfect setting for meeting people, partying until late, and letting yourself be carried away by that unique energy only a big city can offer. It's not uncommon to meet people with incredible stories; and the girls, in particular, are often very sociable and open, making Milan an ideal destination for young travelers looking for unforgettable nights of fun.
But I must also point out what, for me, was the most negative aspect. Unfortunately, outside clubs and discos, especially late at night, it's common to come across drug dealers offering all kinds of substances. Some can even become aggressive, ruining the atmosphere and putting young people at risk.
This struck me deeply because Milan is such a beautiful city and deserves to be better supervised. The police presence is constant, and officers generally do their job with great dedication, but a stronger effort would certainly help make nightlife safer for everyone.
And finally, I can't forget my own personal misadventure: my phone was stolen right in the middle of enjoying Milan's nightlife.I talk about this story in the dedicated article, because even these unpleasant episodes are part of traveling, and in their own way, they teach us something.
